That’s why leadership under pressure isn’t simply about knowing what to do. It's how the body responds in the moments that matter.

Hi, I'm Alexis. I'm a Somatic Leadership Coach. I work with leaders who care deeply about how they show up — and still find themselves reacting differently when things get stressful. I help people build leadership capacities by learning to read cues from their bodies, regulate their systems, and train new responses using imaginal imagery & experiential practices.
With doctoral training in psychology & somatic practices, I create transformative spaces that foster depth, safety, & restoration. Paired with 20+ years in engineering leadership & leadership studies, I bridge somatic psychology with leadership development to create experiences of personal fulfillment & systems renewal.

How Somatic Leadership Works
Somatic leadership coaching builds capacity through practice.
Neurobiology shows you cannot think your way into a new pattern. New ways of being must be practiced under conditions similar to the ones that trigger them.
So, we don’t wait for high-stakes moments to see what happens.
We practice new responses — safely and deliberately.
In somatic sessions, we:

practice being regulated and develop embodied self-awareness (tracking what our body tells us through impulses, sensations, & tensions)
-
bring real leadership situations into the room with experiential practices and imaginal imagery
-
slow the moment down enough to notice what’s happening
-
track bodily impulses like urgency, tightening, or withdrawal
-
practice small, precise shifts while staying regulated
-
repeat these experiences so new responses become available outside the session
Somatic coaching works because imagined and rehearsed experiences activate many of the same neural and autonomic circuits as real-life experiences — at lower intensity — creating the conditions for change.
When we practice inside real leadership situations — at a slower pace, with awareness and regulation — the nervous system learns new options at the same level where the old ones formed.
It’s like a flight simulator for leadership.
You’re not talking about what you’d do differently — you’re training your system to respond differently before you’re in the air.
